Director of Health care kept talking about employees to other employees, it was so bad that the company called in HR to meet with us in groups. It didn't get any better, it got worse.
Support from management
Managers have a lack of knowledge regarding operations of health care, so we received no guidance.
Bullying was allowed.
Freedom to work independently
The business was loosing money and employees so the work kept getting absorbed by the actual workers; d/t supervisors lack of knowledge, they couldn't help.
The director did let us know that we were loosing money and moral was low.
There was a male that was allowed to bully other employees.
Attitude towards older colleagues
Most of the long term employees felt so exhausted from the lack of leadership and inappropriate speech that they left and found other employment (these nurses had worked for this hospital for 20 years). The hospital was bought out which brought on new directors (they got rid of the director that had been in that position for several years).
I had tried to take classes but it was so disorganized that I never got anywhere.
Overall compensation for your work
Average wages and they offered health insurance for the family.
Office / Work Environment
We were in a new building lighting and noise levels were fine.
Our jobs changed as we kept loosing employees. I was 8-5 five days a week, they made schedulers work Saturday and Sunday to enter payroll and take on call 24/7 for 7 days straight, the on call phone rang several times a night, it was exhausting.
They had lost several unhappy employees, it was not a good place to work after the buy out. I had worked there for 17 years and they were bought 3 years ago and the place changed from day to night.
Yes there is a risk. They moved billing to their main office d/t lack of finances.
I did feel accomplishments when we could meet the needs of all the patients.
Inclusive / Diverse
The director was threatened by new ideas.
Suggestions for improvement
- Bring in an agency for leadership as they would be completely unbiased and contain a skill set to lead the company.
What I like about the company
Health insurance benefits
What I dislike about the company
Unfair treatment, inappropriate speech from leaders, dishonesty and a very hostile environment which had been reported to HR by several employees.
