- Be upfront about the expectations for this position and keep people in place to have the greatest benefit from the staff.
What I like about the company
I liked that I was making a difference to the kids I was working with.
What I dislike about the company
I didn't like the fact that my supervisors could not agree about which tasks were more important, and their lack of direction as a result. After I'd built rapport with freshmen in the study halls where I was tutoring, they planned to move me to the sophomore study hall where I knew none of the kids and would essentially have to start all over with learning names and building trust. I did not think it was great for the kids, and it is the reason I left after only 9 weeks of employment with Hillcrest HS. The title English Doctor was misleading and the job description was not adequate for the tasks I was asked to perform.
