Overall compensation for your work

Too many hours being over worked and filling in for staff that calls off because there is no attendance policy and they hold no one one accountable. If the director does and terminates then that looks bad for retention. Such a double standard.

Job Security

If your not in the in crowd, a particular, a drinker, and get the census numbers they don't like you. You out live your time as they would say!

Handicapped Accessibility

Vans can only accommodate one wheelchair so if you go on an activity forget about more than one wanting to go

Suggestions for improvement

  • I would increase salaries based on work performance. I would add policies that help it's employees when needed. I would offer training to new employees as needed. I would add policy and procedure for all depts.

What I like about the company

Haven't had any yet. We were given a 25 cent bonus when company took over last year. We fund raise to get our own funds to do stuff for employees, like Christmas gift cards. We fund raise to help our employees who need assistance.

What I dislike about the company

Taking hours away from employees, taking responsibilities away from managers, taking away any overtime from employees. No employee help within company.

Company Culture

I see the leadership from top to bottom emphasis the culture of Compassion, Humility, Integrity, Excellence, and fun. The company is still experiencing growing pains and not all of the the lower leadership has bought in to the culture.

Support from management

Management encourages us to grow in our careers. There is an emphasis to promote from within but it isn't automatic. You must be qualified.

Freedom to work independently

regional and home office support really is supportive, not a red-tape nightmare like other companies. They have very singular focuses each year. One year it might be move-ins, another year it might be ADR, another year it might be expenses. It just depends on the phase of your community/region.

Gender Equality

This is a female dominated industry. Executive leadership is more 50/50, regional leadership is 60/40 F/M, community gender ratios are more like 90/10 F/M.

They promote from within when possible.

The pay is lower than competitors.

Offices are older and use some cheap furniture.

Not really a focus in this industry.

Work-Life Balance

Unlimited vacation Policy is great when you want to take time off but there is no PTO payout because it never accrues. The PTO is on the honor system. Family is emphasized among leadership. Leadership is supportive and understanding of vacation time. Sometimes they even encourage it.

Job Security

No surprises from management. They will work with you if you need improvement. Otherwise, they leave you alone. Some buildings have been closed due to low census.

Handicapped Accessibility

All buildings are handicap accessible to accommodate the senior population.

Challenging Work

Everyday is a new challenge. There are plenty of tools to help you meet the challenge.

Suggestions for improvement

  • Improve the compensation package. An annual bonus based on NOI would be more inline with the industry. 401k package does not have a generous match or vesting.
