Support from management
Goals set by mgmt, but they lack adequate knowledge and understanding of what is required to accomplish those goals.
You'd think you're living in a school zone with all the buses you're being thrown under.
Freedom to work independently
Work is fairly evenly distributed, but you have little influence over your responsibilities. Massive changes may be made to your department by mgmt that completely change the nature of everyone's responsibilities.
Huge work needs to be done here in quality, timeliness, and accuracy of communications. It has certainly improved, but it's not where it should be.
Definitely NOT a place to establish a career; Get enough skills here to make yourself attractive to other employers, then get out.
Overall compensation for your work
Lousy compensation & awful health plan. Want a raise? You'll have to threaten to quit.
Office / Work Environment
Office space is quite nice, however computer hardware is often underpowered for the applications used.
Environmental actions to reduce CO2 emissions are passive, when they should be actively pursued.
Expect calls at home when you're trying to sleep. They have made significant accommodations for some individuals' work-life balance though.
Unless you go around insulting the company, the drivers, or completely neglect your responsibilities, your job is quite secure.
Safety documentation has certainly improved, but can definitely be better.
What I like about the company
It's like working on a jigsaw puzzle every day where all of the pieces came from a different box; There is no right or wrong way to assemble it. All you can do is find the best way you can to do so.
What I dislike about the company
Under-informed, hasty decisions made by leadership resulting in increased work for employees.
