- E*Trade Financial Corporation16.Dec 2015
New CEO brought in a new culture, where all aspects of the firm's prior successes were assessed and marginalized. The decision to transform the entire organization was decided upon and the assessment was tailored to uphold that premature decision.
Support from management
Worked relatively independently, with little management oversight.
Management did not devote enough resources to build a team.
Freedom to work independently
Attitude towards older colleagues
There is an obvious effort to eradicate long-awaited employees. Transformation consultants were brought in to evaluate the staff, and their evaluations consistently recommended that the consultants themselves should be promoted to power positions within the firm, and that the old guard be removed.
Suggestions for improvement
- New CEO.
What I like about the company
The salary. The autonomy of my position.
What I dislike about the company
An inability to devote resources where needed. The effort to eliminate seasoned personnel and replace them with consultants with little industry experience. The adoption of a risk culture, where employees are expected to spend more time proving that they performed their tasks in a manner which meets an arbitrary of risk tolerance standards than they spend completing those tasks.
