- EWING COLE, INC.24.May 2018
I would say the culture is antiquated. Long hours and not collaborative.
Particularly in the healthcare sector, the projects revolve around the award winning designer. The team is left to do the work of making architectural sense of that person’s one desire.
Not quick to respond to simple questions, like “what is my job title?, how do I submit a request to attend a conference?, when do I talk with my supervisor about compensation?”
Mostly old white men in leadership. One female board member and about 3 female principals. No lactation rooms at any office.
My supervisor hasn’t met with me in 6 months.
Office / Work Environment
The facilities are nice.
You get holidays off. There are summer hours, but only certain offices have laptops so you can work remotely.
Well known, but not in the top 10.
Inclusive / Diverse
Very few African Americans and Hispanics, and none at leadership level.
Suggestions for improvement
- Overhaul. The leadership needs to get a broader definition of success. Staying in business and making money is not success alone. Are clients choosing you first? Are you dominating in your markets? Do people want to work for your organization and go above and beyond? No? Then there needs to be an adjustment.
What I like about the company
There are some great people on the frontlines working to deliver quality work.
What I dislike about the company
Leadership, the mission and value statements, the lack of transparency, the emphasis on one designer, lack of work life balance and flexible work
