The experience has been overall quite positive. A good work environment, understanding managers, and very good benefits.
Suggestions for improvement
- Ah, well, as I said, probably a lot of people could be saved time, money, stress, and effort if they'd just allow more of us to work from home when possible.
What I like about the company
I mean, I've never worked for a company that has benefits as good as facebook does. If you don't drive, they have shuttles you can take to work for free (or, if you do drive, free parking on site). Anything food or drink related you can get for free, somewhere on campus, and they have both good and healthy options available. I have pretty strict dietary needs, due to a genetic disorder, and even I can find something satisfying to eat. Not to mention their health/dental/vision plans, which are genuinely good and not the joke coverage you get with most employers, these days. Plus 401k (and matching)/stock options/etc., etc. Oh, and if you happen to be into telephone booths, they have a museum. I've not visited it, myself, but just knowing it exists somewhere on campus does tickle me, every time I think of it.
What I dislike about the company
Honestly, everything I do could easily be done working from home. I've heard this from coworkers in other positions, too. Probably everyone could save some time and money if there were more jobs with a work from home arrangement.
