Support from management
Administration has unrealistic expectations and no idea what their subordinates jobs entail. Management tends to be overly critical. Important decisions about projects that you are involved in are made without your knowledge and you will be the last to know about these decisions.
Freedom to work independently
Micromanaging and lack of faith in the skills of their competent staff members. Directives are constantly inconsistent.
There’s very little, if any, room for growth.
Overall compensation for your work
Pay is not reasonable and less than what you could get elsewhere. You have to jump through hoops to get increases and specialized training is overlooked.
The work is challenging especially when the direction is vague, ridiculously impractical and impossible to accomplish. Special projects are expected regularly as opposed to occasionally, this interferes with your daily activities particularly when you are not provided additional time to complete these tasks.
Suggestions for improvement
- Employ administrators that are willing to gain basic knowledge about what their employees do and what it takes for their employees to get their jobs done.
What I like about the company
You will work with some of the best team members you can have. With proper management, these employees could thrive and accomplish anything.
What I dislike about the company
The misdirected belittling and fault finding of management (looking for a scapegoat). When you were allowed to work additional hours to complete necessary tasks, you had to take it as comp time as opposed to getting paid.
