Company Culture

Don't let the sign of the fish on the delivery trucks fool you.

Support from management

Regional management threatened staff positions for verbalizing complaints. Office management has poor management skills and felt learning computer system and work tasks was beneath not needed in that position. Complaints to corporate were never addressed and work environment declined until 3 trained employees left and store was left with 3 untrained employees and an untrained store management.

Teamwork

No teamwork here....

Freedom to work independently

Workload distribution is a joke. Office management was going to distribute work using a log and eventually passed the log responsibility off to an employee because office management had to be actively involved in daily operations to manage work loads.

Internal Communication

You've heard of Selective memory....Selective communication also comes to mind. Emails sent from Corporate were never communicated about important information.

Gender Equality

Employees are not valued or appreciated.

Attitude towards older colleagues

Not an issue. Management only hires young to middle age workers that can be molded through intimidation. Experienced office employees are all gone due to working conditions and management.

Career Development

No room for advancement....max pay for the customer service/office position is much lower than the industry standard and raises are non-existent

Overall compensation for your work

Insurance is with a less than desirable provider....cost is high for anyone other than employee. Pay is insufficient for responsibilities of job.

Office / Work Environment

Poor....store is dirty and staff does not have time to do things like empty the mousetraps once a rodent was caught.

Environmental Friendliness

Patient equipment was often delayed for unnecessary paperwork despite a patient's obvious need for medical equipment from a safety standpoint....

Work-Life Balance

None. You have set hours and it is frowned upon if you need to change your hours to visit your child's school or for appointments. If you are a new hire without vacation & sick time, you just are short on your hours on your check. Management is inflexible and talks to co-workers about confidential employment information.

Company Image

Management can talk a good game but operates in a devious manner.

Job Security

None. Regional management made it clear that everyone would be fired if complaints about store management continued. No desire to retain employees on store level or corporate level who find better paying jobs. The IT person leaving corporate wasn't valuable nor is an employee on the store level.

Handicapped Accessibility

They don't provide because they would never hire this type of employee on the store level.

Workplace Safety

N/A to the office positions...

Challenging Work

High volume work. High pressure work for low pay, no raises or minimal raises and no opportunity for advancement.

Inclusive / Diverse

No....never going to happen.

Suggestions for improvement

  • Get new management....immediately!

What I like about the company

That I am no longer employed. Fear kept me from leaving in a poor economy for too long. There are better companies with better pay and better benefits in the area.

What I dislike about the company

Office management was so poor that unprofessional behavior and practices were supported and at times covered up by regional management when upper level corporate was briefly involved.... Ultimate cover your butt mentality.
