Support from Management
Farmers Uses the Agency Owners to fund the marketing, branding and growth of the company. They upfront sell the idea of support but once your working with the company you find large gaps of communication exist between the Corporate office and your Agency. The contract is one sided in Farmer Favor and should not be signed unless your attorney approves. They do not honor the terms of the Agency Owners contract and will twist words and phrases to mean different things when it fits what they want at any given moment. If you chose to have a career with Farmers as an agency owner I highly recommend you get an attorney to review the contract before signing it. Plan on investing at least 50% if all commission back into the company for the first 5 years. You will need a second source of income to live off of while your are growing a book of business with Farmers Insurance.
Suggestions for improvement
- Remove the agency owner program and hire all agents as employees so that they are fairly and ethically treated. Also have an affordable benefits program that is even remotely possible or realistic with regard to monthly cost.
