Several management persons, from line supervisors to District Managers and multiple national locations, feel line personnel in warehouses are of low education and can only speak with profane to vulgar language. HR will take action only to point that is no longer acceptable if it interferes with productivity or there job.
Support from Management
With exception of a few supervisors and managers, most do not the management and analytical training to compete in other companies. Only the time to get packages out the door matters without regard for manpower staffing or safety. The main impetus for distribution warehouse workers is to make it appear as if the work is mortally life or death, that FedEx terms "working with urgency." Having seen 5 accidents in 18 months, one near fatal, the management training treats people as disposable.
It is a different environment from the telephone and office positions where there is more congeniality and favor bestowed.
