The companies culture was good.
Support from management
Leadership was ok.
Employers did interact well with each other but it felt as they didn't because there were no other options. No one wants the to have that unwanted vibe circulating around the company of negativity. On the other hand, when some were not around other employees would speak very bad of another. I wonder if it happened to me?
Freedom to work independently
The work was not fairly distributed because the senior employees were picky about the work they wanted to do. Most of the time I was finishing there jobs because they didn't not want to do it. On the other hand, I never received the same say so.
The communication about business and profits were outstanding. We regularly had meetings and received feedback about our work.
Yes, women do have the same career opportunities.
Attitude towards older colleagues
Yes, this company spoils its senior colleagues.
The criteria for professional advancement are not established. During my interview I was told that after six months that I would be able to switch to flat-rate and that I would be able to undergo more training. On the other hand, I felt as a replacement for another employer who was already told they would receive that exact deal. For instance, we receive notices about enrolling in the companies training. When I first saw that one given opportunity to improve myself I spoke to the manager about how to enroll in it he told me that he would sign me up for it. After six months I approached the manager about our negotiation and he told me that he could not go through with it because I was not ready for it. Then I asked him about taking training and he told me classes have been filled. Elsewhere, employees are being supported through further training. Also the company does offer opportunities for personal development.
Overall compensation for your work
Do wages and salaries match the responsibilities, no. Based on the fact that my previous job did not require me to have years of qualified experience or a degree or vocational training of some type to even be given an opportunity of employment, I literally lost my home after switching from a job to a career with firestone. If I was stilling living home with my guardians it would of been a lot easy to accept the salary, but in the process of working at Firestone my phone was deactivated, cable had to be turned off, and I became behind in rent. I even had to walk a minimum of 5 miles 4 out of the 6 days that I worked. Yes, benefits are offered. Yes wages are paid on time.
Office / Work Environment
During rainy days the roofs would leak. There were rodents in the employee lounge. Also the back of the shop was a hazard because the roof would leak so much on rainy days that the drains would clog and the floors would be filled with water of days.
No environmental and climate protection was not taken into consideration. There have been multiple occasions I would observe senior employees releasing gases into the atmosphere instead of following the correct procedure of releasing the gases into the appropriate ventilation system.
Vacation day can be take at any time. Working hours rarely didn't fall on a normal scale. Families were taken into consideration and there weren't any peer pressure in terms of working hours.
Surprising very shockingly employees do not talk fondly of their company. 9 out 10 employees image about the company did not reflect reality. Most would tell me , "Just quit while you can", "This company does not care about its employees", "We don't get paid enough", and even "This company's treat to its employers are horrible. Which was a weekly topic of conversation.
During my interview I was told that I would receive almost 50 hours per week. On some occasions my hours were cut to 30.
Yes, the company did provide accessible tools for the disabled.
The working conditions did not comply with OSHA regulations due the fact that drains where clogged to dispose oil in that spilled on the floor.
Yes I did feel a sense of accomplishment when completing task. I am also proud of my work product/ or products.
Inclusive / Diverse
The company does promote diversity as a method of achieving business goal. Also diverse opinions and ideas are supported.
Suggestions for improvement
- More honesty, Equally treatment to its young employees, and more honest work not deceiving customers to poor service just because the company already received its money from the customers.
What I like about the company
being given an opportunity to work in the automotive industry.
What I dislike about the company
Is the false sense of hope that the store manager contributed to.
The following benefits were offered to me
