What School Bus Drivers Deal with and how to survive it.
We do have a high turn over rate as bus drivers have a great responsibility to the safety of the kids.
Support from management
They know that traffic, road conditions of something else may cause delays so they don't come down hard on you for it. If a child causes problems, the schools deal with it.
I've had a lot of support from the drivers if I have any questions concerning directions or route changes or other things.
Freedom to work independently
They do listen to problems or concerns. I haven't had any problems so far.
Sometimes communication can be lacking but we do have safety meeting once a month.
I don't get involved with that so I wouldn't know.
Our vacation days are when school is out or holidays. The split shift works well for me as I have other pursuits to do.
I do. The route that I do isn't hard but I had to work my way up to get the route that works for me.
Inclusive / Diverse
It's a part time gig but people are able to move up at times.
