Too many hours
They have a honesty policy but nobody seemed to follow it.
Support from management
Couldn't keep a supervisor.
Fellow employees were mostly friendly unless you did something they didn't like.
Freedom to work independently
Call ins were more frequent for me. I think it was because I lived closer than anyone else.
It seemed to me that the only communication was negative communication.
There were very few women but different cultures were employed.
Attitude towards older colleagues
Most of the work is too hard for older people unless you want a manager position.
There was some training but mostly you just did your job.
Overall compensation for your work
Pay is low, insurance high.
Office / Work Environment
It was hot work but it was in a plastic bag making factory.
Flexsol occasionally has plastic pellet spills outside and keeps covering them with rock. Not sure about fair trade.
With the nature of maintenance, time off was a premium and we could take off if needed. Apparently, families weren't taken into consideration.
Most people want to quit but can't find anything else.
While I was employed there
There were a few maintenance guys that were fired for different things.
It is not a place for the disabled unless it's in the office area.
Some of my work was recognized but my ideas were trashed.
Inclusive / Diverse
No, I got the impression it was their way or the highway.
Suggestions for improvement
- Hire more maintenance technicians to cover shift work and day maintenance.
What I like about the company
Like a great house, location, location, location. It was less than two miles away.
What I dislike about the company
Getting called in all hours of the night and nearly every weekend instead of calling the person who was supposed to be taking calls.
