Support from management
Good for the most part, but that all depends on your manager.
Had a great team, but personalities of fellow operators make a big difference.
Freedom to work independently
In operations you should never work independently. That is a good thing. Safety in numbers.
There is a lot of room for improvement, especially from corporate.
12.5 hour rotating shifts tend to lead to a lot of time away from home. Because of the nature of the work if someone is gone their shift has to be covered. So overtime can be a little much, but the paychecks ere nice.
It is hard to make a outside production area handicap accessible when you have ladders and stairs to towers and structures and also numerous obstructions on the ground.
Suggestions for improvement
- Communication from the top to the lowest levels. Don't assume information is known or passed along.
What I like about the company
The pay and benefits. They were top notch.
What I dislike about the company
Swing shifts and long hours.
