Integrity is the name of the game at FPL. Unfortunately, for years it was automatically assumed that someone would not get a bonus or raise this year because not everyone can be the best...someone has to take the fall. The level of accomplishment is so high there that an adequate year of production at FPL is an exemplary year at a peer plant.
Support from management
People management is good to excellent on the supervisory level. A select few in senior management is just as good, but there are only a few. In my position in the training department, the top leadership has little regard for daily activities or how it is accomplished, as far as work-life balance. Many extra hours and weekends spent uncompensated. I could have spent less extra time without anyone knowing, but the product would have suffered.
Co-workers made the difference. Most, always made the difference to help.
Freedom to work independently
Fairly distributed for most.
They were good at communication. Maybe to a fault because you could never take it all in. But that's better than being in the dark.
Fair and equal employment.
Attitude towards older colleagues
They understand the corporate knowledge therein.
Like anywhere else, it depends on what's available. They do have an acceptable program to pay for college through grad school. However, I've seen better.
Overall compensation for your work
If you produce, they will pay you. But, you've got to toot your own horn if you want good to great yearly bonuses.
Office / Work Environment
Better than most. Technically speaking, they are living in the 21st century.
Top notch and aware.

- Fill the slots. There is plenty of room in the org chart.
What I like about the company
The people there are high caliber, quality people who come to work to produce. Procedure and process is consistently high.
What I dislike about the company
High work load will impact family life. Most employees there will testify to that.
