Support from management
The manager and office people will always make sure it is someone else''s fault
The warehouse is great and employees thereally support each other. The office management does not work with the warehouse, only on how to make it someone in the warehouse''s fault
Poor communication between the office and warehouse. Sometimes rule apply, sometimes they don't. It all depends if it makes a non-office employee look bad or not.
Attitude towards older colleagues
If you're in the "clique", or family member, you'll be good. However, as a younger employee, I got the sense that many of the older employees there were there because of ageism. A general sense of "choking".
No, you get one raise, and after that, you eventually hit a low ceiling. But this was my experience only.
Overall compensation for your work
The health care package is nice, and you get basic holidays.
Office / Work Environment
The warehouse is a great team. However, the dust and dirt is immense, and will aggravate existing allergies.
The Internet is constantly in trouble, and will frequently get in the way of getting work done.
The business is not socially aware, and are stuck on practices from 30-40 years ago.
Usually there is no overtime, so actually, you can plan your private life accordingly. Everyday is the same schedule, and you have weekends off.
While I can't reveal specifics, they are the 'dinosaur' of the business. They are stuck on a late 80s/early 90s model.
If you accept being blamed for everything, and small errors being blown up as such a disaster, sure, you'll keep your job. If you do not desire to pursue professional development, you should be fine.
Ramps for vehicles, but no elevator. This is a bare-bones, cut rate kind of place. You get the basics and minimums, and that is it.
Barely. It is very easy to get hurt there.
There are actually many small jobs you can expand into. However, don't expect to receive any credit for it.
Inclusive / Diverse
No minorities, but honestly, I don't look at that as a requirement for a good business.
Suggestions for improvement
- Get with the 21st century. Treat warehouse employees with more respect, and hold office employees accountable for their mistakes, even ones who are family and/or in the "group".
