Support from management
Management and leadership shows a lot of favoritism and office politics.
The Teams are probably the best aspect of the office life. The hiring managers do a great job at hiring productive people and firing unproductive workers quietly. You're usually left with pleasant individuals that can carry their own weight.
Freedom to work independently
There initially is no autonomy at this job. everything that you do is watched and monitored. You're reprimanded and coached many times before you are fully trained on systems.
This is two sided. The teams are great at coaching and talking to each other. However, management directives are never disseminated properly.
They make an effort to hire a diverse groups of individuals, however, you will see a pattern with management, women hire ups are often treated like assistants to their directors, and very little people of color in their higher management.
NO CAREER DEVELOPMENT AT ALL. This is the central issue to the favoritism mentioned previously. Regardless of how diligent of a worker you are, it is friendships and favoritism that are the ultimate determination of promotion.
There are many opportunities for fund raising and community engagement
Good people are often over worked, and given project after project. Much of the work here (if you would like to excel) Must be done in addition to expected work hours.
This is a call center. There are high turnover rates. Period. This is a byproduct of the business.
This is also reflective on management and favoritism. Good workers are given more and more work, while other workers are left with one.
Inclusive / Diverse
They do promote diversity and divergent Ideas, but often fall on deaf ears. They recently implemented comprehensive surveys that allow employees to share opinions without names attached to the surveys, which is good.
