Support from Management
Upper management is out of touch with the needs of middle management and line managers.
If you play along, you'll be okay. If you have new or opposing ideas then beware of the backlash.
Communication is a joke and only comes on as an "as needed" basis.
Attitude towards older colleagues
If you're over 45, it's advisable to look for a Plan B.
Suggestions for improvement
- Upper management should take time to become dialed in to the needs and concerns of managers and line supervisors. They are currently too concerned with strategic planning and have become distanced from the real life experience from the from the front lines.
