The safety department tries it's best to keep everyone safe.

Support from Management

Managers had a hard time distinguishing boundaries between employees and friendships. Different sets of rules between the two groups. Goal expectations are unrealistic for time frame expectations. If you're in the friend group.."the Club," you can earn overtime w/out approval. If not, your expected to do an unrealistic amount of work between 8 to 5. You can also take longer lunches than non club members because you are eating lunch with the managers more times out of the week than not. The club members get to talk down to rest of coworkers because of their membership in the club. Basically, serious management training needs to be given. Upper management should seriously pay attention to why there is such a turnover. Also, eliminate hiring relatives and friens as the club increases rapidly this way. ADVICE: not worth the stress. Anytime spent at this company is a complete waste of time out of one's life. So many more companies out there with managers who have had professional training where one can get a valuable learning experience.

Suggestions for improvement

  • Upper management needs to address high turnover rate. The managers need to be given management training. It's a serious issue. A rule needs to be implement with managers fraternities with employees. Stop managers from partying with employees. Lots of stories being passed around the office about managers behavior at these outings. It promotes lack of respect for managers which makes it hard to take them seriously.

Support from Management

Management is substandard and lacks formal training. Management parties with a certain group of employees within the dept, which those employees have Cart Blanche when it comes to overtime, late lunches, and work performance. There are many in the department who really want to do well, however the management issues destroys quality workers and breaks down team work. There is a huge turnover in this department, which in itself is a direct reflection on management. The manager does not have the ability to see the distinction between friends and work. The lines are definitely blurred. What you discuss with him in private is then discussed over drinks or lunch with the employees within his selected group, which creates lack of trust and lack of respect.
