Support from Management
Management is substandard and lacks formal training. Management parties with a certain group of employees within the dept, which those employees have Cart Blanche when it comes to overtime, late lunches, and work performance. There are many in the department who really want to do well, however the management issues destroys quality workers and breaks down team work. There is a huge turnover in this department, which in itself is a direct reflection on management. The manager does not have the ability to see the distinction between friends and work. The lines are definitely blurred. What you discuss with him in private is then discussed over drinks or lunch with the employees within his selected group, which creates lack of trust and lack of respect.
