What I like about the company

They offer medical benefits.

What I dislike about the company

They are capricious. Everything is in a state of flux. From how they pay you to when the work week starts to which group is responsible for which tasks. Essentially, everything.
There are scheduling advantages that they give to the most demanding employees (re: Squeaky Wheel Syndrome). It's not based on fairness.
Some departments are commission-only. Some get an hourly as well. My department gets no hourly.
Sales people in my departmentment must be able to pay for their hourly earnings with their commissions or they will be fired. Our department is always hiring replacement sales staff.

Company culture

Started 9 years ago with excessive amounts of growth and then flash forward to last month. Growth has ceased and the mentality of the employees has slowed to a dramatic hault. Not due to motivation, but to lack of compensation from things as; benefits, purchasing programs, lack of leadership, and the mentality of leadership that would rather glorify the faults/mishaps of individuals and not the abundance of good they brought to the company over the course of the tenure. The culture of Fry's is as such, "if one single person, out of over 50,000+ employees, makes a mistake that causes any damage to possible gains in sales or customer satisfaction. Then all other employees must feel the consequences." Which is not only bad for business, but also increases the risk of associate dishonesty.

Support from Management

Favoritizm plays a huge role in certain managers. It doesn't matter if you even know more than the manager or have been there longer. If you stand up to your manager, even when you have justification and witnesses, they will shun you for the rest of your time of either of you work there. However, certain managers are perfect and always great to be around, because they are very insightful so that's why they are in charge of the store. But lastly some managers will not at all hesitate to turn on you if it meant to gain more "libido" saying goes, "In dark days you know who your real friends are, but when the sun rises you only see a trailing footprints."
