Favoritism, discrimination, no communication, bad training and employee values.
Support from management
WHAT A LIE! Management slacks and messes around, tells people what to do, hires and fires like its the fourth of July! You will get some training and then expect to know everything in store and all other places you.
Only a little depending on your department, everyone is on their own, its a shark nest of sales/commissions
Freedom to work independently
Barely any, you will be watched or mocked easily by higher ups, while others do not do their work or just slack off.
Nearly none, you are barely trained and tossed on your own
Its very unbalanced, some women do hold a lot of power here, if your not flirting, wearing inappropriate clothing, dating, or having inappropriate relationships with higher ups, you may be okay here.
Attitude towards older colleagues
No, they do not tend to hire older people unless you are buddy buddy with management.
Literally none, unless you are a huge "behind" kisser of special favorite of a manager, you will never move anywhere in store, people fight for positions, and easily stab people in the back (or toss you under the buss) for no reason or your job.
Overall compensation for your work
Depending on your position most often you are not compensated well. Most spots are sales/commission only, few hourly spots, and the worst is merchandisers (very underpaid for all their hard work). Lowest spot for wage and just get treated like trash by everyone in store
Office / Work Environment
big open space, very bright in store, the heater is always on in the store (no clue why), cluttered and small isles and walkways, the computers and technology employees use are horrible and old (like buggy windows 95 and MSdos).
They do not have any that I know of
You will never get a big amount of hours, no one but supervisors and managers get full time
No, I was shown a false icon and face of this company, once inside it is a horrendous workplace of lies, sharks, favoritism, poor treatment, and a wear down of your soul.
Your job is always on the line, you have no value unless your manager or supervisors. You can be fired or tossed for no reason at all (they want those hiring bonuses)
None really, they let one bigger person sit in a chair, but they just slack off and push the work to other people and do nothing but get the credit. We need more breaks and options to rest when standing on feet all day
unsafe storage, unclean conditions, faulty and dangerous electrical equipment (including forklifts)
Merchandisers will work their backs off, you will struggle hard every day for with barely any help or value of self. Cashier does okay, most departments are easy work and you will see them slack off at times. Managers and supervisors just mess around and slack, even store manager is never around or at store.

They honestly do not care about this at all.
Suggestions for improvement
- Value your employees, give fair treatment and wages (including benefits, pay, hours, and incentives). STOP playing favorites, stop the harassment from supervisors/managers towards lower level employees. DO NOT HIRE PAWNS for the extra money from tax/hiring benefits, and then toss them aside and repeat! Unethical and just horrible!

Poor wages, favoritism, unfair treatment of employees, sexist, no value for work (including customers, and employees), unethical and false business practices, and just so much more that could be listed!
