The company believes very strongly in their mission and their goals and they all work together to achieve/accomplish them.
Support from management
With the nature of the job being what it was, the supervision that I had did as well as could be expected. They always addressed my needs as best they could.
There were times that I felt as if engineering assumed that the field service technicians automatically knew how equipment worked, even though no information was given. This created some unnecessary headaches.
The majority of my time was spent driving to a facility and then sleeping in a hotel. There really was no work/life balance to speak of. This is the nature of the job. My statement is not a criticism, just an acknowledgement that that life was not for me.
Suggestions for improvement
- If they were to hire a couple more FSTs, they may be able to retain talent longer.
What I like about the company
Gainco is a good small company to work for in that management extends a great deal of trust toward its employees in their ability to do the jobs they are tasked with. They treat their employees well and have a strong vision for the future.
What I dislike about the company
There is nothing about Gainco that I do not like. The travel schedule, although necessary, was simply not for me.
