Family oriented. Nice people on the surface. "Whatever it takes" mentality.
Freedom to work independently
Above average for the most part.
Yes. More women then men in upper management.
Attitude towards older colleagues
Family owned company with 5 Family members in senior management but plenty of opportunities to move around the company.
Overall compensation for your work
9 years and no raises. Continuously used "economic down turn" in 2008 as reason for no raises. Workload continued to increase along with hrs but compensation did not increase with it.
Office / Work Environment
No. Hard to speak with customers to schedule delivery appointments in a warehouse environment. Forklift and truck traffic made communicating difficult. Actual office and showroom areas are very nice.
Extremely demanding schedule. Expected to "live" there in the name of "whatever it takes to get the job done" can easily be upwards of 12hr days 6 days a week.
At times I was.
Never really lay offs except for a few during 2008. But people would leave or be let go for whatever reason and they would not always be replaced. The work would just be "redistributed".
End result of tile and stone installation when it turns out right is almost like a piece of art. It can be very impressive.
Inclusive / Diverse
What I like about the company
Work hard play hard mentality.
What I dislike about the company
No raise in 9 years..due to "economic down turn" in 2008.
