Company culture

It's a very cooperative and supportive environment.

Support from Management

Yes.

Teamwork

Yes.

Level of Autonomy

Yes.

Communication

Yes.

Gender Equality

I see no problems with gender equality at work.

Attitude towards older colleagues

We have several older workers, but it's not the majority. I would say we have a nice balance of seasoned employees and new hires.

Career Development

It's pretty good, but most of our jobs don't really have much growth or advancement opportunities. Or not much of one. You can move from a clerical position to an assistant position, but it's not that big of a promotion. Anything else would probably require further education.

Support from Management

The district is encouraged to replace older employees with new employees to save money on salaries

Suggestions for improvement

  • Treat the employees with respect. Make an effort to help them focus on the students instead of a lot of unnessisary paperwork. Reduce stress by handling difficult students and parents. Bring some form of discipline back into all public schools so the students experience consequences for their actions. Make the parents more responsible for their children's behavior and support the teachers and staff. Do not rely on occasional tests to define the students needs. Let the teacher be able to have a voice in what she feels is lacking in individual students education.
