Suggestions for improvement
- I work with a diverse team with people from all over the world. Some of these cultures do not respect women and it comes across in the workplace. I'd love to see some sort of training for everyone on what's respectable behavior and what is not. Also, our policies have become too black and white with little room for immediate supervisors' discretion as to when an action should be punishable. If you have a loved one who passed away and call out it still counts against you. Again, this goes back to the so called "stars first" mantra.
What I like about the company
We get discounts on hotels and activities worldwide and get free meals and parking every day. Opryland has many training options available to help grow as an employee. I enjoy working with my co-workers and my boss. My job is challenging, but the team I work with makes it fun.
What I dislike about the company
Nashville is growing quickly as are the costs of living. The hotel needs to work harder to provide wages that match the inflation of our growing city. Current management is removed from what everyday employees are going through and seems to only care about cutting costs for stockholders. Are motto is "stars first" with stars being employees. Everyone laughs at this as employees are clearly not at the top of the list of those who should be treated best.
