Support from management
My department manager didn't communicate well. He would only share things with the supervisors. Also, he did not make it his business to know the job responsibilities of his employees.
Suggestions for improvement
- Promote women. Replace the manager of compliance and maintenence and separate them into 2 different departments. The current manager doesn't know DOT compliance nor does he seem willing to learn it.
What I like about the company
Part of Love's Travel Stops and Country stores. Love's is great to their employees. They improve their employees by offering career courses during working hours. The cafeteria provides good food and is very convenient.
What I dislike about the company
I felt that Gemini is discriminatory towards women. Men will move up within the ranks but, the women in the office do not. The director of transportation and the manager of compliance and mantinance are the worst offenders. You need thick skin to work there.
