The company pretends that they care about their employees and clients, but they really don't. They "walk out" (fire) employees all the time and even do it right as the employee's regular client has already checked in; right in the middle of the work day, leaving the client hanging and then having to throw them in with another artist/therapist. Very bad customer care!
Support from management
There is no support. I'm not going to go into details, but there is also no HR support.
Just when you feel that others are working well with you, you turn around and get stabbed in the back. Very few co-workers that you can trust.
All I have to say is that the communication is atrocious!!
N/A We were approximately 98% female.
The training in some aspects was very poor. And if you tried to communicate this with a manager, stating that you don't feel confident enough to with the products and protocol, you got written up as complaining.
Overall compensation for your work
I was hired on as the 6th esthetician to catch the overflow, which only ended up being a few clients a day. Even after a year, I still didn't have a full schedule and could barely live off of my salary. Thank goodness for the tips, which still was barely enough to live.
Office / Work Environment
This was one of their only positive attributes.
Very unhealthy ventilation of professional hair products, such as coloring processors, and other chemicals for hair. My eyes were always burning when I was at work.
I had heard many co-workers not talk very fondly about the company. I've also talked to many ex employees, who were either let go or left on their own accord talk very negatively and say it was one of the worst experiences of their career.
Absolutely no security there! They can and will fire you at the drop of a hat and with no notice for no reason. Happens all the time!
I am good at what I do. I have never needed a company to validate that. My clients appreciated my work and occasionally sent in complimentary letters.
Inclusive / Diverse
Who knows? Never noticed anything regarding this subject.
Suggestions for improvement
- Actually caring and supporting their employees. Genuinely caring about their clients and not pretending to. Better training and employee support. Actual positive communication. Not continuously rotating managers around from location to location. An actual supportive environment. And so many other things to list!!
