Some good things, some bad, but ethically challenged; only place I ever worked where I think the rules on fraud, waste and abuse are violated (depending on the project)
Support from management
Not much leadership. Mostly on your own to find work and keep yourself busy. No feedback on how your efforts help the organization
Depends entirely on who you work with. No standards from project to project.
Freedom to work independently
Entirely on your own to find work and assignments.
Never really got any feedback on my performance.
Some employees are favored more than others, If you are not in the favored group, life can be tough.
Office / Work Environment
OK, but not spectacular.
Mixed bag, depends on your project and lead
Not stable at all.
Good show, but no heart in it.
Inclusive / Diverse
Inclusive if you fit what they want...
Suggestions for improvement
- Train people on current USG procurement rules and case law. Be less arbitrary in treatment.
What I like about the company
Some folks are really good to work with. Work is very interesting.
What I dislike about the company
Very arbitrary management. They also have some ethical issues; example would be the tendency to load the project with "extra capabilities" that were not included in the budget or schedule, causing overruns and late deliveries. This is a legal issue in Federal procurements. The engineer could be caught up in any legal activities if the Government decides to pursue this.
