Poor management. You have to be a talker not a doer to be considered for management. I have been with GE for 10 years, and have seen only good talkers make it to higher management. Performance is not really a measure for your career success in GE.
Company has been totally unstable for the 10 years I have been there with layoffs almost every year in one part of the company, I see poor management making drastic decisions, and all they care about is the quarterly earnings, no long term vision.
