Suggestions for improvement
- There would be a lot fewer wasted man-hours if there was a stronger emphasis on getting the parts right at Hot Stamp. Also, a standard deadline for mandatory overtime and a standard overtime volunteer process would be nice. It's hard scheduling family activities and transportation for the jobs of other family members when I don't know until Friday that I'm working on Saturday and Sunday.
What I like about the company
My supervisor and team leader frequently tell me when I'm doing a good job.
What I dislike about the company
Management needs to communicate better with employees. Much information is dispersed by word-of-mouth, so procedural changes are not always taught accurately.
Also, in the upstream portion of manufacturing, there is an emphasis on fast volume production rather than on getting the parts made correctly so that at points further down stream employees are stuck trying to get poorly shaped parts to work on our equipment to bring the pieces into customer specifications.
