Suggestions for improvement
- Promoting from within instead of hiring friends/family for higher positions (especially when they don't have prior experience in our field). It makes your long-term employees feel like they're not valued, and kind of bitter. Would definitely get a better health plan, a 401K with employer match, and at LEAST double the PTO per year.
What I like about the company
Management is supportive but not too buddy-buddy with employees (still cracks down if need be, and doesn't take forever to do it if there is a problem). I don't take work stress home with me at the end of the day. I worked hard and it was acknowledged with a raise after a couple of months!
What I dislike about the company
The newer system is kind of a nightmare so far, people still have to do so much manually because the system can't get it right.
Better health insurance would be nice, and/or a 401K. More PTO is a must, they currently only give 5 days of PTO per year (no separate sick leave). I think the PTO is the biggest drawback for me...
