There is no culture at all.
Support from management
Management is almost completely separated from the employees.
None to speak of.
Freedom to work independently
You have to work autonomously. But not in a good way
If there's any, it comes in the form of vaguely worded emails, passive-aggressive statements, or threats.
Attitude towards older colleagues
Not at all.
They offer a professional development session once a week. But it is in name only and not taken seriously by anyone.
Overall compensation for your work
I was under-compensated for my title and experience. Promises were made, but never kept.
Office / Work Environment
One word: Toxic.
Not really. There's a trash can for recycling.
They don't care about it. They make a big deal about the PTO program, but if you're a conscientious employee, you get a guilt trip to go along with the request approval.
Industry professionals in the area know the reputation and it is not good at all.
Layoffs and restructuring are common because of revenue issues. Longevity has no bearing on if they keep an employee.
I like the original work we produced, however, too many people step outside their responsibilities to influence the work. And not for the better.
Suggestions for improvement
- The company could do so much to improve the culture and quality, but it does no good to try. They won't listen anyway.
What I like about the company
The employees are nice, but they are miserable.
What I dislike about the company
They have no emphasis on employee retention and accept astronomical turnover as standard. Any attempt to improve work conditions and culture, or expand business is met with scorn.
