I was so excited about working for Grand Homes. They made it sound so wonderful. It was the worst job I ever held. You have to eat, sleep and breath Grand Homes. No work family balance at all. There are mandatory meetings even if it is your day off. The owner said he tries to run his company like Southwest Airlines. What tour of an Airlines did he take it definitely was not Southwest. They pay their people not find a loop hole around it. You get emails whenever a sales person in the company makes a sale but they do not tell you when those buyers change their minds (this happens a lot). They only send the emails so you can see look this person is selling you can do it too. This is a great job if you want to babysit in a model home all day and talk to people who want to come in to just look at the decorations but who you better knock yourself out spilling a script to buy a home they can't afford. If you are serious about selling homes get a real estate license and make your own hours and earn a guaranteed commission. You will make a few sales but will you be allowed to stay and see the completion of the home to earn it. That is the loop hole. If you stay you get 2% in 3rds. If for some reason it doesn’t work out and a lot of times sales people can’t wait 8 to 10 months for the home to be completed. Oh well too bad, your partner gets 1% for having to hold your buyers hand through the sale and Grand keeps the other 1%. Oh what a great loop hole for Grand Homes. Your mental state and well being are worth more. They have a long list of homes just sitting get your real estate license, take your client in and sell them a new build. Take your well deserved 3% and ask the salesperson for a bonus they can get it for you.
Suggestions for improvement
- Don't use other company's names as your model when you are in no way like that company. Building homes in Mexico and Africa might make you feel good but paying people their fair share might keep you our of the ICU.
