I feel being in Tech support you are treated like the bottom of the food chain where you dont really matter. An example you have a ceremony to recognize employees and all of them where administrator considering tech support is the largest group there sounds unfair.
Support from management
Supervisors are nice people but dont have much control in getting you days off or promotions. Also if you go to school part time is difficult to get.
There isnt much teamwork since your stats are based on individual performance.
Freedom to work independently
Workload is outrageous always understaffed and QA gives you a specific structure you must follow.
This area is misleading your doing a great job however no promotion in sight.An example my stats are great incomparison to everyone else but I need to be here for a year to be promoted to tech 2. I cant apply to other positions without being a tech 2 for 6 months. Then they change there metrics the time I invested doesnt count anymore.
For a call center there is equality usually tech support are primarily men since most women are in customer service
Attitude towards older colleagues
Alot of seniors work at the call center
You have to be a lifer to really advance in this company
Overall compensation for your work
For an entry level tech support job they pay good and benefit are really good as well
Office / Work Environment
The equipment is adequate and the call center is fine
Not sure about
Vacation hours need to be 2 to 3 months in advance to have a chance. If something comes and would like to trade a shoft good luck getting that done
In tech support people just don't like the company but other departments do.
There is job stability never felt that was an issue.
Not sure didnt pay much attention
This they do fine
The work is easy but the only problem is how they label wireless. You have to pay extra for wireless to get support but customers arent aware of that and that we dont guarantee wireless speeds. The routers they have dont seem to provide good wireless signal.

Suggestions for improvement
- They need to hire a full staff so customers arent irate. Promotions need to be more accessible so employees have something to motivate them
What I like about the company
I like the free coffee employees do get free Internet,cable, and phone if in a serviceable area
What I dislike about the company
For a first time tech support job this is the job but if you want to move up this is not the job gor you
