The most unhappy group of people I have worked with.
Support from management
Upper management will make decisions without consulting the floor managers or the employees. This is what we are going to do and if it fails it's your fault.
Most of the employees worked well together along with the floor managers,
the problem in this company is upper management, (do as i say not as i do)
Communication between upper management and the floor personal was poor.
Women have just as much opportunity as the men.
Attitude towards older colleagues
For the hourly workers it's good.
If you are good at sucking up, you will do better.
Overall compensation for your work
The pay was good but not worth the stress.
Office / Work Environment
Most of the office workers hated their jobs, long hours and no help from the department manager.
For the most part they operated by the book but there were exceptions.
24/7 operation, long hours and constant phone calls, not enough time in the day to get everything done.
Buy up the competition.
There is no job security for the managers but it's good for the hourly employees.
None, no handicapped workers.
Safety was big but when it interfered with production, upper management would look the other was. The numbers were more important.
The work was not so hard, just more than one could get done in a day.
Suggestions for improvement
- The floor managers work hard and do a good job, although their work is NEVER appreciated. Upper management needs to lead by example. (Do as I say not as I do, is a terrible way to manage.)
What I like about the company
The pay and benefits were good for this industry.
What I dislike about the company
Lack of caring for the employees, if they are unable to produce the expected numbers they needed to be written up for lack of performance, no matter how good the employee was in every other category.
