- Grede Foundry Corp17.Dec 2015
No. Huge turnover, unwarrented firings, blatent threats occured daily and in public.
Support from management
Unrealistic goals for market and material condition of equipment
Most were good, area and culture were not accepting of "outsiders"
Freedom to work independently
Often one or two departments took blame for all problems, often undeserved
Corporate philosophy of morning tactical meeting was terrific, even if ours was not productive.
Office / Work Environment
Very old infrastructure, some new equipment. Relatively clean for a cast iron foundry.
I was expected to work 7 days a week. I averaged 90 per week. I went weeks without seeing my family
Facility closure was announced a month after I started.
I felt I was making a difference.

Suggestions for improvement
- Teams that are not winning often fire coaches, not players. Team building does not involve tearing individuals down in a public forum.
What I like about the company
Big company, long history. Very progressive production meeting / feedback / corrective action process. Northern locations are top notch
What I dislike about the company
I felt misled almost immediately. I was hired for a location that was closing in order to transfer me north. Openly attacking individuals in meetings, threats of firing almost every day. Relied on negative reinforcement instead of risk and reward. I resigned my position within two months of starting work.
