Freedom to work independently
You work under high Time Pressure and little control over your timing
Overall compensation for your work
You work for low Hourly Wage and Commissions(based on upgrading Clients to more costly Programs under Pressure from Management). So you have to rely on Tips as well, to make decent Money.
Office / Work Environment
This is a physical and mentally draining job(working with demanding clients , some with psychological issues-Hair loss!)
Hairpieces are made in Asian Countries like China and Vietnam for cheap Labor and sold for Top Dollars in US, so your typical greedy Company Profile. So no fair trade!
For the Beauty Industry Standards good. 40 hr weeks with Sun Mon off!
You work with demanding clients with sometimes unsanitary Conditions. You can't be sensitive as you work with all Scalp Conditions(bad Smell, Build up etc.)
Inclusive / Diverse
No you have strict Company Standards.
Suggestions for improvement
- Pay Stylists accordingly or reduce the pressure and Work Load!
What I like about the company
Stable Employer with good benefits
What I dislike about the company
The Company was bought out couple years ago and new owners are penny pinchers. The Wage compensation that comes from the Company is to low for the kind of work you do. As a Stylist you are looked down upon, as they have so many Big shots in there who think they are more important than the people you serve the Clients.
