Support from management
One doctor, two staff members, none of which are RNs. Office manager works from home, two hours away.
Freedom to work independently
The Dr. only wants the office manager - who lives two hours away and works from home - to make decisions.
Mixed signals everywhere, every day
No career development
Overall compensation for your work
Wages are very low, you have to get and pay for your own benefits. There is a stipend for that, but it's not much with health care so expensive.
People like this D.O.
Way out in the country
Again, way out in the country, sort of hidden. I wouldn't be there after dark.
Extremely challenging, as your duties will change weekly
Suggestions for improvement
- Hire a registered nurse if the Dr. is going to leave the office early every day, and/or not see patients after noon. There should never be non-medical staff performing medical staff duties ever, especially if there is not a Dr. on the premises.
What I like about the company
Some of the patients are really sweet, and very appreciative of a kind word and some attention.
What I dislike about the company
It's never clear what's expected of you, and sometimes you are asked to perform duties only a trained nurse should perform.
