Suggestions for improvement
- Additional staff. At least 1 additional System Administrator, though 2 Jr. Sys Admin would be better to assist between Network and system needs. Night staff for Help desk. On call Applications person. On call Systems person.
What I like about the company
I am being allowed to assist with the network upgrade and learn about machines and devices that few would normally not get to touch. Access to tools and equipment will make me very valuable in the future.
What I dislike about the company
Doctors, due to their need and vitality to the organization, are sometimes allowed to be degrading and hateful to IT. While my manager stands up when these situations occur, little can be done to them due to their value. When you work in a support environment such as I.T.,we are their to help to the best of our ability. Being a staff of 4 people for an 3 facility hospital system, means we have to prioritize task and calls and work hard. To be shouted at and told that "You should not breed" by a doctor because they couldn't figure out how to turn on the monitor and you tried to help them, should not be overlooked.
