Overall Compensation for your work

Starting salary was decent. Raises the first year or two were okay many years ago, but as the years went on, raises were not generous. Over the last 4 years, most employees received no raises. Harte Hanks was actually giving some people promotions with no salary increases!

Work-Life Balance

Most employees have good work-life balance, but there were some that worked excessive hours.

Support from Management

During the first 5 or 6 years, I was appreciative that my supervisors respected my decisions. After losing several supervisors to unjustified layoffs over several years, I was lost in the shuffle, with little to no input on major decisions that impacted my position and well-being.

Throughout the company, not including the top executives, the teams worked well together, with the exception of the administrative level, where the majority of us worked well together, but there was a power struggle involving one individual, years of dishonesty, and nothing being done about it by management, causing the rest of us stress on a daily basis.

So much dishonesty from a particular person who made up rules and lied to get you to follow the "rules." Power hungry and got away with it. Stressful.

Attitude towards older colleagues

They let some long-term employees go who were very knowledgeable of the business and the employees.

Career Development

Most young people going into the company go nowhere and eventually leave.

Overall Compensation for your work

Salaries start out at a decent rate but good luck getting regular or generous raises. Most mid to low level people have gone well over 3 years since their last raise.
