Suggestions for improvement
- There could be a bit more oversight on my team regarding what I'm supposed to do when my main job is slow. This is a hard thing to improve, though, as an inconsistent workflow is pretty standard for my position.
What I like about the company
I have super flexible hours. I can work from home or come into the office, which gives me ample opportunity to spend time with my family. I work mostly independently, so there is no micromanaging, but my manager and others are always available if I need help or have questions. We get excellent benefits, such as unlimited PTO and frequent employee activities. We also have a gym onsite with personal trainers who teach various exercise classes. The leadership is transparent and tries to take their employees' opinions into consideration when making big decisions.
What I dislike about the company
Recently, it has felt like leadership has been a touch out of sync with their employees. We didn't hit our goals for the last half of 2017, and we therefore didn't get a bonus. However, all the leadership could talk about was how well we had done and how we compared with public companies. It was good to know that we had done well objectively, but it was hard to reconcile that with not getting a bonus at all. When I first started, I floundered for about three months before I really got into what I was supposed to do. That was a very difficult transition.
