Upper management and human resources have their own agenda. Don't ever expect help, if you really need it.
Support from management
Upper management in general does not help or support staff and they consistently look for a scapegoat, should they lose an account. It is always the fault of the middle management. If there are client complaints, middle management doesn't even get an opportunity to defend themselves.
Since a manager is never fully staffed, and constantly required to provide coverage in addition to the 50,000 other things on their plate, there is little time to help a co-worker.
Freedom to work independently
Everything is dumped on middle management.
It depends on the region where you work.
It doesn't matter if you are a man or woman. If you are not part of the elite group, you constantly have to watch your back.
Attitude towards older colleagues
The workforce is very diverse. I have no complaints in this area.
You are on your own to either sink or swim. If you consistently lack the necessary staff, you will eventually sink.
Overall compensation for your work
The compensation is fair, but the company constantly cut benefits. The health insurance choices were a joke, especially for a national company.
Office / Work Environment
It depends on the facilities where you work.
Is a 60+ hour work week considered balanced?
I have always felt like clients looked down on employees. In many facilities, you were treated like the "hired help" by people who were your peers. Everything was always blamed on the copy service, never the client staff.
Again, unless you are part of the elite group, your job is never secure.
Since we worked at hospitals and other medical facilities, we were at their mercy. The copy service was lucky to get an area larger than a closet at many of the facilities.
Again, depending on the facility.
You never have time to complete anything with the staggering amount of work. I was basically trying to do two full-time jobs, because I could never keep good people.
Inclusive / Diverse
Upper management never listens to anything the underlings have to say.
Suggestions for improvement
- The company will not listen to or care about suggestions, so why bother.
What I like about the company
I really can't think of anything that I like.
What I dislike about the company
Favoritism and nepotism. Lack of support from upper management and human resources. Poor pay and benefits, especially for the field staff. I doubt there is enough room to list all dislikes.
