Company Culture

There are cultures within individual teams, but it never felt like we were all part of the same company

Support from management

They try really hard to manage unmanageable expectations.

Teamwork

Teams are pretty solid, and seem to have each other's backs.

Internal Communication

I was bombarded with conflicting and irrelevant information on a daily basis, which made it more difficult to find the things I needed to pay attention to.

Gender Equality

Mostly women with male supervisors.

Career Development

There's really nowhere to go there.

Environmental Friendliness

They're a paper media.

Work-Life Balance

There was pressure to come in early, stay late, and work during off hours because of the sheer volume of emails.

Company Image

Hearst always looks good on a resume, even if you hated working there.

Workplace Safety

Safe, yes; training, no.

Challenging Work

The only thing challenging about the work was keeping up with all of the disparate messages I received daily.

Inclusive / Diverse

Diversity in people welcome; diversity in ideas not.
