Support from Management
It is unfortunate that management personnel in this organization are more interested in booking personal vacations on company time rather than improving public safety. The manager in this position does not lead by example. He arrives late, leaves early, and sets unrealistic expectations from employees. If you are looking to gain some experience in the world of public safety, this is a good place to start. However, do not expect a high level leadership or support from your management team.
Level of Autonomy
There is no distribution of workload within this organization. Unfortunately, the IT Manager is looking for hard-working, intelligent individuals that will take on all of the workload for as many positions as that person can tolerate. Initially, this is a good learning experience into many aspects of public safety and the organization, but it eventually becomes demoralizing to know that there is no equity of workload or accountability within the organization.
