Suggestions for improvement
- There should be less upper management and middle management. Teachers need to be treated as professionals and given the freedom to teach in a manner that is best for their students. There is a culture of distrust and teachers feel used and abused by everyone above them, starting with District coaches, Administration, and District level personnel. There needs to be friendlier, more open communication and helpfulness with a realization that we all work for the same company with the goal of educating students.
What I like about the company
I have great support from my immediate supervisor. I know that I am making a difference for students and the professionals I work with.
What I dislike about the company
There is too much micromanagement from the District level, which trickles down to the site level. Teachers are professionals-let them do the job they were trained to do. There needs to be more trust of teachers to do what is best for their students. While classrooms may have long term subs due to teacher shortage, we have District coaches that would be better utilized in the classroom. Teach the students instead of teaching the teachers.
