Company Culture

Employee's come DEAD LAST! Customer's get WHATEVER they want, because the company want's return business.

Support from management

The manager's are all new, need to be trained by HOURLY EMPLOYEE'S and then the manager's are turned loose!

Stab you in the back to make a Dollar!!!

That's the only way we worked! On your own, lie to customers and make as much money as possible, no matter what it takes!!!

Internal Communication

From management to car cleaner's, nobody share's any information about anything or anyone. It's word of mouth only. Most of the time it's correct, sometimes it's wrong.

Shoot, Hertz fired a senior vice president at HQ, fired director's and in a wonderful April fools day, fired 10 people from the RSW airport in Fort Myers FL!

I got called in for overtime, ended up working 3 months of 6 day work week's! No thanks or respect or rewards.

I got hit by 3 vehicles as a Security Agent at RSW airport, not once did management write a report or file worker's comp paperwork!

Inclusive / Diverse

HQ does these "out reach" and "community support" activities, but it's all smoke and mirrors! Estero FL bought the rights to the civic center and wanted to paint it Hertz yellow, the whole building. Public was in an UPROAR and Hertz agreed to paint some of it Hertz yellow! Hows that for community support??

Company Culture

I worked in security as an exit gate agent. We were/are the "last line of defense" against theft. A better title would be "major complaint taker." Everyone, regardless of "status" (ie platinum down to walk up) complained about everything and anything! Management would ALWAYS side with the customer, even if they were wrong! Management would never back an employee. Management encourages counter agents to take as much money (in reservations) as possible. I once saw a German couple get charged over $2000 for a weekly rental, that normally costs around $600! I cant say enough bad things about Hertz.

Mostly a dig eat dog environment. Whoever makes the mist money (from customers) wins!

Anything from events happening to simple emails about schedule changes, were hardly ever talked about or passed down.

Hardly anyone talks to anyone. But if someone dies talk to you, watch your back!

Work-Life Balance

Constantly called in on your days off. I work 6 day weeks for 3 months straight a couple of times. I also got called back from a weeks vacation, because a manager took the same week off as me, but she us management and I was only an hourly employee.

Ya, they promote the heck out if it.

Job Security

Hertz recently fired a Senior vice President due to a down turn un revenue. However, the position was not eliminated, it was filled by a cheaper person.

Company Culture

They say they care about their employees, but if you have a personal issue or a suggestion to improve processes they will either ignore it or will not acknowledge it.

Support from management

If you need help from management they are never available and you will be told not to contact them.

Teamwork

The only team the management was on was their own.

Freedom to work independently

You can work from home. However, you only have 30 minutes to pack up your equipment and reach the building. Even in very bad weather. If you don't make it within that time you will be counted as absent and it will count against you there are no exceptions.

In the eight years I worked for this company I would learn about any changes from customers about a week or two before anything official was shared.

There was a woman I worked with who had been there for 25 years. She developed a problem with her bladder which required her to have to take several bathroom breaks throughout the day. The closest bathroom was on the other side of the building. Being older she did not move fast. She was fired for it even though she had a doctors note and no reasonable accommodation was made for her.

They did raise their pay to a fair wage.

Oppressive and very stressful.

Environmental Friendliness

The level of micromanagement is unreasonable which causes undue stress to the employees. You are questioned on nearly every decision made to help a customer but are told to use your own judgement when helping a customer.

Work-Life Balance

Be prepared to work every weekend and holiday for at least the next three to four years. Also be prepared to work every evening as well as 10 hours of mandatory overtime every week for several months.

Very poor. I worked in customer service. There were no satisfied customers.

Job Security

Before I stopped working there, Hertz decided to let three of their management go. One of them had been there for 20 years. They were given no warning and were told when they came into work that morning that they were being let go.

Did not notice too many accommodations.

Dirty. Bug and mice infestations. Not too much effort being made to correct the problem while I was there.

If you mean finding ways to smooth over their poor business practices, then yes.

They do employee from every race and treat everyone the same so far as I have noticed. If they didn't it would be against the law.

Suggestions for improvement

  • If they stopped treating their employees like children who they think need their hands held and actually listened and implemented some of their suggestions it would be a good start.

That I don't work there anymore.
