Before working here, I never knew how important company culture is to the success of a company. Higgins provides the ideal climate for a positive atmosphere. Employees are aloud to use their unique skills and personality to the betterment of the company.
Support from management
I feel very supported by the co owners and other management on a daily a basis.
Most of the employees work together with at least 1 other person to complete projects.
Freedom to work independently
Employees are trusted enough to work independently in the way they feel is best to get their work done.
We receive weekly company newsletters to share recent company information
As a woman and a C level executive I can confirm this company treats women fairly.
Attitude towards older colleagues
we have a wide variety of age and skill groups.
The majority of our C level executives have moved up to that level, we hire within first.
Overall compensation for your work
while I do not make as much as I could in a larger city environment, I feel it's worth it to work for a company that I value and trust.
Office / Work Environment
We have a variety of fans, portable heaters etc. as well as office temperature controls to make employees comfortable.
while this is not a topic that is discussed much, there are recycling options available to use.
As a single Mom, balance is key for my success. This company is very flexible in regards to work hours and last minute situations.
I feel like this company provides real benefits to it's clients in a professional and ethical way.
I feel comfortable with both my annual reviews and personal relationships with the owners to know my job is stable.
There are handicap accessible offices and resources for all employees.
While I am not in a leadership position with the safety committee, I am not aware of any workplace accidents in the past 9 years.
While my work is difficult at times, I usually find that it is worth it because I know it's helping the company.
Inclusive / Diverse
While looking at our complete employee profile it appears that we do not value diversity (less than 10 percent are non-white), it fits with our small town demographics.
Suggestions for improvement
- I think it would really benefit the company to offer more online and remote services to expand our client base, but it doesn't seem like the co owners are interested in this idea currently.
What I like about the company
Over the last 9 years, I have gotten to know most of my co workers and higher management on a personal level. We are a small company who value personal relationships and find that our professional relationships are better because of it.
What I dislike about the company
As a small company in a suburb, our company is limited in growing our business currently. I would like it better if we could expand into nearby large cities to grow the company.
