There isn't any kind of recognition for anyone that goes above and beyond their normal daily tasks.
Support from management
The supervision is all about the good ole boy club. Does not care if they put too much work on one employee will others get away with almost everything
There is no team work at HillPhoenix it is like everyone for themselves just as long as they are not getting into trouble.
Freedom to work independently
Ones that performed their duties well, always had more of the workload added to them
The communication is I think the worst thing about Hillphoenix because there was none at all
Women are always the weak link in the Hillphoenix realm of things. When women are put into some kind of management position they are always scrutinized and made out like they didn't do their job correctly
Attitude towards older colleagues
The long serving colleagues were not appreciated and neither was any of the senior workers.
The further training did not happen at all
Overall compensation for your work
There healthcare benefits were about average. they did offer sick pay. The wages started out being good when I first started and then after about 5 years they started nickel and diming people to death.
Office / Work Environment
That is something that they do half well. But they are still behind in the moderd technology.
They are when it suits them.
When I first started there was no threat of positions being eliminated but the last few years they have been letting people go without any for warning.
Not at all everyday at Hillphoenix someone is getting hurt whether it is a deep cut, burned from torch or welder, or being ran over by a forklift
The job is very demanding to say the least so when you are able to complete a task on time and have it shipped out the door it is a major accomplishment. Take into account that rarely happened.
Inclusive / Diverse
this company is not female or black oriented when it comes to any type of management position.
Suggestions for improvement
- Get rid of the Good Ole Boy Club, pay people what they are actually worth, quit letting so many people slide when it comes to actually doing their work,
What I like about the company
The end of the year if you didn't use your sick days they would pay you the cash for the days you hadn't used.
What I dislike about the company
No communication, no equality for women, no recognition for the valued employees who put everything into that company.
