Freedom to work independently
There is some management over us, as required by several things.
Overall compensation for your work
Much higher compared to other states.
Office / Work Environment
It is something that are currently working on, as a funding bond was recently passed.
Recycling compartments in every single room
The company itself does encourage it. Any imbalance between it is really down to an individual preference.
It is not per say the company's fault that my job isn't 100% stable - it's dependent on state budget as well.
To the best of my knowledge.
I'm a middle school science teacher, it's very challenging.
Suggestions for improvement
- I cannot think of any improvements at the company, as I am still navigating my first year and learning the ropes.
What I like about the company
They are continuously striving to improve conditions for our students and make sure every student is known by name and strength, which is wonderful. Like I said too, they also recently passed a funding bond so we've been getting new technology and new things to help us in the classroom with our students.
What I dislike about the company
My constructive feedback is with the SPED departments. There are some students who are obviously in the wrong classroom setting, and our teachers all at our building actually recognize it but those at the district level, who don't actually work with these students on a day-to-day basis, refuse to listen to us in most cases and make the appropriate changes needed.
