Company Culture

Teamwork

Unfortunately it seems like they are out for themselves

Freedom to work independently

Again. On site managers feel as if they need to linger and watch over.

Internal Communication

The higher ups, do great. The on site managers have a little more learning to do.

Gender Equality

Onsite doesnt do so well.

Attitude towards older colleagues

Most people who are higher ranked, have been with them and worked their way up.

Office / Work Environment

Provide amazing equipment

Environmental Friendliness

They have never showed interest

Work-Life Balance

I have Unfortunately experienced life changing issues, and they have actually been great about understanding.

Handicapped Accessibility

Because of where we address located, its poorly built for anyone with disabilities

Workplace Safety

Top notch equipment

Challenging Work

I am a bartender, dealing with the public in any case is sometimes difficult, but adding alcohol increases it.

Inclusive / Diverse

They are pretty closed off about others opinions

Suggestions for improvement

  • Our parking is horrible. Or workers and guest. They should make better access to the entrance.

What I like about the company

When my mother passed away, they were amazing at reaching out with, food, donated rooms for family, money, and didnt press me about coming into work or anything.

What I dislike about the company

They ate trying to take some of the luxury benefits away.

Company Culture

My coworkers are wonderful but upper management could care less about your well-being

Challenging Work

Working in a high tourism city, Means the restaurant can be extremely busy at times but at other times we did and no money to be made

Suggestions for improvement

  • During the busy season ends, they should definitely have more than one person working in the restaurant at night time. Many nights a single person was working the bar, restaurant and room service. Which was extremely overwhelming and there was no extra compensation for your extra work

What I like about the company

I did actually like working for the Hilton company. The employee discounts on hotel rooms across the country was a major perk

What I dislike about the company

There was no compensation for extremely slow seasons. I was not a salary worker and I wirked for tips. This was good during the tourist season or special events in New Orleans but when those events were not happening, we made be close to nothing and could not survive during the off-season. I think it would help the restaurant employees if we had an hourly rate increase during the times of the year when the hotel business was not booming.

Workplace Safety

Challenging Work

It was a very fast paced multi tasking sort of enviorment where you were always dealing with customer service

Inclusive / Diverse

I was one of only 2 hispanic females that worked the front desk the rest of the minorites worked in the kitchen or housekeeping I am a natural born citizen for generations the rest of the females at the front desk were white

Suggestions for improvement

  • I would get rid of the current management and have the bbb and the equal opportunity folks to investigate I am sure they would find a lot wrong
